Selection Best Practices
Size Matters
- Too small: May not capture enough context
- Too large: May affect unwanted areas
- Just right: Include the target plus a bit of surrounding area
Include Context
The AI works better when it can see:
- The floor or surface the object sits on
- Surrounding objects for scale
- Lighting context
Clean Boundaries
- Don't split objects awkwardly
- Include complete items in selection
- Avoid cutting through important features
Common Selection Scenarios
| Goal | Selection Approach |
|---|---|
| Change furniture | Select the entire piece plus a bit of floor |
| Modify wall color | Select the visible wall area |
| Add an object | Select the empty space where it should go |
| Remove something | Select the object and immediate surroundings |
